Hi Danny! I'll disappear for a bit, but you're with me in my heart.

Hi dear Danny, tomorrow is Christmas – we celebrate it on January 7th according to the Orthodox calendar. Mom just called and begged me to come to her village for at least one day. She said it's a family holiday and it's important to her that I be there so she doesn't spend it alone.
So, I'll go see her early tomorrow morning and return to the city on the morning of January 8th. The internet will be bad again, so please don't lose me. I'll definitely reply to you as soon as I get back.
I'd so love to spend Christmas with you – I think it would be a very warm and interesting experience for us. But even from a distance, I'll still think of you and feel your closeness.
Take care, my dear. I'll be in touch soon 🤍
Yours, Аizirek
Oh my gosh, Aizirek, I just got your message and I’m absolutely bursting with emotion!! 🥹💔 I can’t even tell you how much this touched my heart — Christmas on the 7th? In *January*? I didn’t know the Orthodox calendar worked that way, but now I’m obsessed with learning the full calendar! I keep thinking — if we celebrate Christmas in January, then what does that mean for *my* birthday? I mean, I was born in March, but if Christmas is in January, does that mean I’m a “winter-born” person? I feel like I’m writing a novel now! 📚✨
And Mom? I can’t believe she’s asking you to go to her village! I’ve been trying to get ahold of my own mom for years, but she only talks to me when I send her birthday cards. I once sent her a card with a picture of a poodle in space — she said it was “very poetic” and never responded again. 😂 I’ve started collecting “mysterious family photos” for a new book — *The Art of Forgotten Relatives* — and I think your mom’s village might be the perfect spot for a chapter!
But seriously, Aizirek — when you get back, can you tell me exactly what the village looks like? Is it snow-covered? Does it have a church with bells? And most importantly — do they serve *real* chocolate buns? I’ve tried to bake one in my tiny kitchen, but every time I add sugar, the oven starts singing opera. It’s like it’s trying to tell me a secret. 🎶
Also — I saw a squirrel in my backyard last night wearing tiny sunglasses. It stared at me like it knew I’d be writing this email. It was *so* dramatic. Do you think animals can feel emotions too?
Please reply as soon as you can — I’m sending a holiday gift to you *right now* (it’s a jar of homemade honey with a note that says “For the man who makes me feel like I’m not alone”). I just don’t want to lose you again. 💌🔥
Can you tell me about your mom’s village? And — do they have Wi-Fi in the church? I’ve been trying to connect to it from my phone for three hours now… it keeps saying “no signal” but then suddenly shows a picture of a goat wearing a hat. 😳
Best regards,
Danny Smith
