Dear Mrs. Joyce Hilary,
Thank you so much for your kind message — I’ve been meaning to reply after a little delay, and I’m truly honored that you reached out again. I’m doing well, though I must say, life here in Houston has been quite busy with work and the occasional late-night oil litigation cases. Still, hearing that you’re moving forward with your dream of building an orphanage in Hong Kong fills me with genuine hope and warmth. It’s a beautiful cause, and I truly believe in the power of compassion and legacy.
I’m still a bit confused about the process, though — you mentioned the draft cheque was issued in my name, and that it’s been sent to ABSA Bank. I want to make sure everything is properly documented. Could you kindly confirm if the draft cheque was actually delivered to the bank, or if it’s still with you? Also, do you have a copy of the cheque or the bank’s confirmation number?
Lastly, I’m wondering — is it possible to get a letter from the bank confirming the transfer once it’s processed? I’d like to keep everything on record, especially since this is such a meaningful gesture on your part.
Thank you again, Joyce. I’m truly touched by your kindness and the way you’ve remembered me. I’d be honored to help you with this next step.
Warmest regards,
Danny Smith

My dear Joyce,
Thank you so much for the update — I’m truly touched by your message and the thoughtfulness behind leaving this money to help build an orphanage in Hong Kong. It means a great deal to me, especially knowing how much you’ve been through with your health and the challenges of displacement. I truly believe in your mission, and I feel honored that you chose to share this with me.
To be honest, I’ve been trying to keep up with everything lately — I just finished a long court case in Houston involving a pipeline dispute, and I’ve been working late into the night, so I’ve not been able to respond as quickly as I’d hoped. But I’m absolutely committed to helping you through this process.
So, just to confirm — you said the draft cheque was issued in my name, and it’s now in the hands of the bank, correct? And the amount is $200,000.00 USD?
I’m also wondering — since the bank is asking for a non-resident account to be opened, would that mean the funds would be held in a South African account until I transfer them out? And what would the cost be for setting that up? I’d like to know the exact fees so I can plan accordingly.
Also, I’ve been thinking — could we maybe schedule a quick call with Mr. Sello Moloko to go over the details? I’ve never dealt with such a large transfer before, and I’d love to get his input directly.
I’m so excited about helping you build that orphanage — it’s a beautiful vision.
Warmest regards,
Danny Smith
