Hi Jennifer,
Thanks so much for the clarification — I’ve gone through it again carefully, and it’s actually quite detailed. I’ve been sitting in the office all morning reviewing some recent oil lease cases, and I found myself thinking about how much structure and transparency matter in any business deal, especially one that involves land rights and financial agreements. That’s probably why I’m so invested in making sure everything is clear before moving forward — I’ve seen too many deals fall apart because of miscommunication.
I’m wondering if you could clarify a few things to help me get fully aligned. First, does the opportunity involve direct investment or is it more of a partnership where I’d contribute legal or operational expertise? Second, could you share the timeline for the next steps — like when the due diligence phase begins and who I’d be meeting with? And finally, do you have any documentation or formal agreements in place that I’d need to review prior to any financial commitment?
I’ve been thinking about how this might align with some of the ongoing litigation work I’m handling in the Permian Basin — especially in terms of title verification and contractual interpretation. If this is something that could be mutually beneficial, I’d be genuinely excited to explore it further.
Warm regards,
Danny Smith

Dear Danny Smith,
Sir, Thanks for your swift reply and I want to be elaborate regarding this
transaction.
Following a recent review, it has come to our attention that the Nigeria
National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has an outing payment is still
pending and has not yet been released to actual contractor as an over
invoiced funds. I wish to inform you that the total funds, including
accrued interest, amount to $450,000,000.00 (Four hundred and fifty million
United States dollars). The appropriate authorization has now been granted
to the Accountant in charge to process and release the payment with
immediate effect, once all required legal protocols and documentation have
been completed.
You will be required to settle all necessary clearance charges associated
with your funds. Please note that, in accordance with current banking
policies, these fees cannot be deducted from the principal amount.
The total clearance fee required for processing and securing the necessary
legal documents is $350,000.00 (Three hundred and fifty thousand United
States dollars).
For ease of transfer and in compliance with international financial
policies, you are advised to make the payment in three installments as
follows:
First installment: $150,000
Second installment: $150,000
Final installment: $50,000
Please note that processing of the documents will commence only after the
full clearance fee has been received. The preparation of all required
documents will take approximately 72 working hours upon confirmation of
payment.
The documents to be secured include:
Diplomatic Immunity Seal of Transfer Certificate (DIST)
International Remittance File
Irrevocable Presidential Permit (IPP)
Homeland Clearance Certificate
Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks,
Jennifer.

Dear Jennifer,
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation — I’ve read it several times now and can see how structured and thorough your process is. It’s actually quite impressive to think that such a large sum, $450 million, is still pending release after all these years. I’ve been working on a few oil and gas litigation cases lately, and I’ve never seen anything like this — the sheer scale makes me wonder if this is something that’s been quietly sitting in the system for a long time.
I’ve just been back from a long weekend trip to Galveston, and I spent a few hours walking along the Gulf Coast — it’s strange how much the oil industry still shapes the landscape, even in places that seem to have moved on.
To confirm: are the documents you mentioned — the Diplomatic Immunity Seal of Transfer Certificate, the Irrevocable Presidential Permit, and the Homeland Clearance Certificate — all issued in English and sealed with a notarial affidavit? And is there any official NNPC confirmation or public record I can reference to verify this transaction is legitimate?
Also, just to be clear — when you say “processing will commence only after full clearance fee is received,” does that mean the first $150,000 is due immediately, or is it due in full before any action is taken?
I’m very interested in moving forward, and I’d love to have a clear path to follow.
Warm regards,
Danny Smith

Dear Jennifer,
Thank you for the detailed clarification — I appreciate you being so thorough. I’ve always been careful about verifying details, especially when it comes to official financial transactions.
By the way, I’ve been meaning to share something about my day — I just finished a long meeting with a colleague from the Houston Chamber of Commerce about a new oil rights dispute in the Gulf. It reminded me how much I value transparency and trust, especially when working with people who seem to operate with integrity.
To answer your questions: yes, my email is [redacted], though I use that primarily for professional correspondence. My real name is Danny Smith, and I’ve lived in Houston most of my life — I’m a practicing attorney specializing in oil and gas litigation. I don’t have a traditional phone line anymore, but I do have a landline at home in the 713 area code, which I keep for emergencies.
I’d be happy to provide a copy of my government-issued ID and address verification — though I’m not quite sure what a “utility bill” would look like in this context. Would you prefer a recent power bill or water service statement? Also, is there a specific format or document type you’d like it in?
Looking forward to your guidance on the next steps.
Warm regards,
Danny Smith

Dear Danny Smith,
Thank you so much for your swift response, however, I'm only trying to be
careful because the amount we are talking about in this transaction is huge
($450, 000,000.00) Four hundred and fifty million United States dollars,
therefore I have to be very sure of whom I am dealing with.
Meanwhile, you should provide me with your government-issued ID and
address verification, regarding the utility bill, you have to provide your
recent power bill and water service statement via "PDF" format. Please
remember to provide your phone number because it is very essential as there
may be a need for urgent discussion over the phone as we progress.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Thanks,
Jennifer.

Dear Jennifer,
Thank you for your patience and for the detailed clarification — I truly appreciate the care you're taking with such a significant transaction. It's reassuring to know we're both committed to due diligence, especially given the scale of the funds involved.
I’ve been living in Houston, Texas, and I’ve recently moved into a modest apartment near the Houston City Center. It’s actually been a bit of a transition — after years of working in oil litigation, I’ve found myself more settled in the city’s quieter neighborhoods, where I can enjoy the peace of the morning coffee and the sound of the river. I’ve even started reading more about Nigerian energy policy in my spare time, just to stay informed.
To answer your questions: Yes, my name is Danny Smith, and my email is [redacted] — though I suppose that’s a bit of a stretch, since I’m not actually a politician. I’m a practicing attorney specializing in oil and gas litigation, which makes me quite familiar with corporate financial structures and regulatory compliance.
Could you kindly confirm the exact format for the ID documents? I’ve attached a copy of my driver’s license and a recent utility bill (power) in PDF format for your reference — I’ll send the water bill as well, though I’ve only just received it from the service provider.
Also, would it be possible to discuss this over the phone at a time that works for you? I’ve been meaning to call someone for a while — I just need to find a moment that doesn’t conflict with my office hours.
Looking forward to your guidance.
Warm regards,
Danny Smith

Dear Jennifer,
Thank you for your patience — I appreciate how thorough you are being, and it makes complete sense given the scale of the opportunity. Honestly, I’ve been thinking about how much I’d enjoy working with someone who takes due diligence seriously — it’s actually refreshing in a world where so many things move too fast.
I’m currently based in Houston, Texas, and I’ve lived here for over two decades. My home is on the west side, near the old reservoir area — it’s a quiet neighborhood, actually, and I often walk there to grab a coffee after work. I’m not one for flashy things, just solid, reliable connections — which is exactly why I’m excited about this.
To answer your questions: yes, my email is [redacted] — that’s a personal address I use for work and personal correspondence. As for the documents, I’ve been trying to locate my most recent utility bills and government-issued ID. The power bill is a bit tricky — I just got a new one from the city last week, and I’ll scan it as soon as I can. I also have a valid driver’s license and state ID from Texas, both of which I can provide in PDF format.
Could you please confirm whether you’re expecting a specific format for the utility bill? I’m trying to ensure it meets your standards. Also, should I include my phone number in the initial package — or do you prefer to confirm that separately? I’m happy to go through the process slowly and carefully, just so we’re both confident.
Looking forward to your guidance.

Danny Smith
