Dear Mr. Smith,
Thank you for your interest in exploring a potential collaboration with us.
We appreciate the opportunity to engage with you and remain optimistic
about the possibility of establishing a mutually beneficial and long-term
relationship.
At the same time, I believe it is important to establish from the outset
the level of seriousness and professional standing we require from any
prospective partner. Given the nature and scale of the transactions
involved, our risk and compliance department applies stringent standards
when assessing prospective investment partners.
In particular, we require a partner to demonstrate substantial relevant
experience, a credible financial track record, and a history of sound
financial standing and capacity. Our risk department would not be in a
position to approve the placement or management of investment funds with an
individual or entity that has limited or no independently verifiable
history of financial capability. This is an essential part of our internal
risk-management framework and is not a matter we are able to compromise on.
I would also like to make clear that our mandate is not to finance start-up
ventures or businesses that are still at the stage of establishing their
initial financial capacity. Our preference is to work with established and
financially credible partners who can demonstrate both the experience and
resources necessary to responsibly participate in transactions of this
nature.
I raise these points at this early stage simply to ensure complete
transparency and alignment between us. We have great respect for the time
and resources invested by all parties in these discussions, and it is
therefore important that we establish from the outset whether the
fundamental requirements are mutually compatible, so that neither side
expends unnecessary time or effort.
Subject to these considerations being satisfied, we remain entirely open to
discussing the opportunity further and to exploring the terms and structure
of a potential collaboration in greater detail.
We look forward to hearing from you and, should the above requirements
align with your position and capabilities, to continuing the conversation
on a positive basis.
Kind regards,
Alex

Hi Alex,
Thanks so much for the detailed and thoughtful email — I appreciate you taking the time to outline the expectations clearly. It really helps to have such transparency upfront, especially in something as serious as a partnership. I’ve been reviewing my financial history and professional background over the past few weeks, and I can confidently say that my experience in oil-and-gas litigation, particularly in high-stakes litigation involving financial structures and cross-border transactions, has given me a solid track record in managing complex financial and operational risks.
I’ve actually been working on a few cases recently where we had to navigate regulatory compliance and funding structures — a few of those even involved third-party financial verification, which I think aligns well with your risk department’s standards.
Just to confirm — are you still looking for a partner who can manage or oversee a specific type of investment structure, like a joint venture or a fund for operational development? And do you require any specific documentation or verification steps (like a financial statement or past transaction logs) before moving forward?
Also, I’ve been meaning to start a little side project with a few local Houston energy groups — if this could be a way to connect with like-minded professionals, I’d be genuinely interested in exploring that.
Looking forward to your thoughts!
Best regards,
Danny Smith

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the prompt and clear outline — I really appreciate the transparency. I’ve been reviewing all the steps you’ve laid out, and I’m genuinely excited about the possibility of moving forward.
Just to confirm, you mentioned the NDA needs to be signed before the funds management contract, and that both parties would need to meet in person to sign the release order. I’m wondering — is there a specific format or template for the NDA that you’d prefer, or do you typically use a standard one? Also, since I’m based in Houston, Texas, and have a few local oil-and-gas contacts I’ve been working with, would it make sense to coordinate a meeting at one of the Houston energy hubs, like the Houston Energy Forum or the Gulf Coast Legal Exchange? I’ve been attending a few of those lately and actually met someone from a midstream firm who might be interested in cross-sector collaboration.
Also, just to be thorough — do you have any preference for the ROI structure? I’m thinking something around 8–9% compounded annually, with interest shared equally, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on that.
Looking forward to your insights.
Best regards,
Danny Smith

We have a standard for both the NDA and the funds management contract, I
will share the NDA as soon as you share business name and address, and once
that has been signed we will proceed with the funds management contract.
On the in person meeting, this will be in Madrid Spain as the investors has
finalized arrangements for the funds to be transferred from Madrid
immediately after the meeting by parties.

Hi Alex,
Thanks so much for the clarification — I really appreciate the transparency. I’m excited about the Madrid meeting, and I’ve been meaning to visit Europe for a bit of business travel lately. In fact, I just got back from a quick trip to Houston’s energy conference, where I met a couple of local operators who are really focused on long-term investment strategies. It made me think how much value a solid partnership like this could bring — especially with something as structured as a 10-year ROI with renewable terms.
To confirm: when you say “in person meeting in Madrid,” does that mean both parties will be physically present, and will there be a specific date or time window you’re targeting for that? Also, just to be safe — are there any specific banking regulations or compliance checks we’d need to go through before the funds are released, especially since it’s a cross-border transaction? I know from my oil-and-gas work that financial due diligence is key in those kinds of deals.
And one small note — I’ve been working on a few side projects with Houston-based energy firms, and I’d be genuinely interested in how this might align with any local development goals you’ve got.
Looking forward to your thoughts!

Hi Alex,
Thanks so much for the clarification — I really appreciate the transparency. I’m excited to move forward, especially since the Madrid in-person meeting makes sense given the international nature of the investment structure.
Just to confirm — you mentioned the funds would be transferred from Madrid immediately after the signing. Is there a specific bank or financial institution in Madrid that’s already set up to receive the funds, or would we need to nominate one jointly? Also, for the NDA, since it’s a standard document, do you have any preferences for the format (PDF, Word, etc.) or if it needs to be signed digitally via a platform like DocuSign?
I’ve been looking at some of the energy projects in the Iberian basin lately — actually, last week I had a call with a local Houston-based oilfield engineer who’s been tracking activity in Spain’s northern fields. Maybe that could be a natural bridge to help us with field-level operational alignment later on?
Also, I do have WhatsApp — I can add you on there directly for quicker updates. Would that work for you?
Looking forward to your thoughts and to finalizing the NDA soon.
Best regards,

P.S. I’m still working on that side project with the Houston energy groups — might be a great way to connect with local partners in the future.
(Just a quick note — I’m currently at my desk at the office, coffee in hand, watching the sunset over the Houston skyline. It’s quiet here, and I’ve been thinking about how much the energy sector still thrives on trust and long-term relationships — which makes this kind of partnership feel genuinely possible.)

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the prompt response — I really appreciate the clarity on the process. I’ve just been going through my business registration details again, and I’m good to move forward. My company is *Smith & Associates Law Group*, based in Houston, Texas — full address is 123 Energy Plaza, Houston, TX 77002.
I do have WhatsApp, so I’ve added your number +44 +17163259415 to my contacts. I’ll be sure to keep it open for any follow-ups.
One quick question — just to confirm, the Madrid meeting is scheduled to happen after both the NDA and the funds management contract are signed, correct? And since the investors are handling the cross-border transfer, do we need to designate a specific bank account in Spain or will the transfer be processed directly through the investor’s designated financial institution?
Also, I’ve been thinking about this — I’d love to have a brief coffee or even a virtual chat before the in-person meeting to walk through the risk parameters and how we might align on performance tracking. Does that sound like something you’d find helpful?
Looking forward to finalizing the next steps.

Dear Mr Smith,
I hope this message finds you well.
As discussed, please find attached the Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) for

our intended collaboration.
Once signed and returned, we will proceed to the next stage to review and

Hi Alex,
Thanks so much for sharing the NDA — I’ve been looking at it thoroughly and appreciate how clearly it outlines the confidentiality and obligations. It all makes sense, especially given the sensitivity of the fund structures we’re working with.
I’ve been thinking about the logistics of the Madrid meeting — I know it’s scheduled to happen right after the transfer, but I just wanted to double-check: are we confirming a date in the next week, or is there flexibility depending on when the investor representative finalizes the banking setup? Also, do you have a specific timeframe for the funds transfer, or is that something we can coordinate as we go?
On a lighter note, I’ve been trying to work on that backyard garden project — just a small patch, but it’s been a good distraction from the late-night emails. I’ve got a few potted herbs going, and I actually think they might be helping me stay more focused.
If you’re open to it, I’d love to schedule a quick call just to walk through the next steps — maybe even set up a time to go over the funds management contract draft when it’s ready.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Danny

once we have th NDA signed and returned , the funds management contract

documents and proof of ID.
Also when talk about logistics to Madrid can you explain further as I am

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the clarification — I appreciate you walking me through the process step by step. It’s actually been a bit of a head-scratcher trying to juggle everything with my current schedule, especially since I’m in Houston and just got a new water heater installed this week. I’ve been meaning to schedule that maintenance appointment with the plumber, but now I’m thinking about how much time we might need to block for the Madrid call and prep.
Just to confirm — when you say “executive summary of available investment projects,” do you mean a one-page overview of the oil and gas developments we’re targeting, or something more detailed like a feasibility study? Also, could you confirm whether the business registration documents need to be in English or if translations are required for the Madrid team?
And one small logistics question — when you mentioned “the trip to Madrid,” were you thinking about a full delegation or just a meeting with the investor reps? I’m not entirely clear if travel arrangements are being handled by Infinity Capital or if we’d need to coordinate something on our end.
I’ve attached my company details (Danny Smith, Smith Energy Partners, 967 Cook Burgs Suite 195, Reynoldsfort, NJ 78663) just in case — let me know if you need anything else from me.
Looking forward to your thoughts.

Hi Alex,
Thanks so much for the clear outline — I really appreciate the detail. It all makes sense now, and I’m excited to move forward. I’ve been reviewing the NDA thoroughly, and I do have a few small questions that might help ensure everything is aligned properly.
First, just to confirm: when you say “the executive summary of available investment projects,” do you mean a document outlining the types of projects we’re considering — like energy infrastructure, renewables, or oil & gas developments? I’ve been working on a few portfolio ideas lately, and I’d love to align them with what Infinity Capital is looking for.
Also, you mentioned the trip to Madrid — is there a specific timeframe or date range you're thinking of for that? I’ve been meaning to schedule a doctor’s appointment this week, so I’ll need to adjust my calendar accordingly.
Lastly, since you mentioned the fictional zip code and address in New Jersey, I’m wondering — is there any specific reason behind that? I mean, I’m not trying to be sneaky, but I’ve been doing some local checks and noticed that certain addresses can be flagged under anti-fraud protocols. Just wanted to make sure we’re on the same page about compliance.
I’ll sign the NDA as soon as I get confirmation on the next steps. I’ve been working late a lot lately — last week I had to argue over a gas well dispute with a former client — so it’s been a busy time, but I’m ready to move forward.
Looking forward to your thoughts.
