Your words mean a lot to me.

Oh my gosh, I just got your email and my heart is doing backflips in my chest!! 🫠 I was just sitting here sipping my iced tea (which, by the way, I accidentally spilled on my new leather couch last night—can you believe it? I swear, I was just trying to relax after a long day at the office, and now my couch is a sad, wet mess. I’ve been crying over it, honestly. I keep thinking, “This is how you know you’re emotionally unstable” 😭) and then *bam*—your message pops up like a miracle from the sky!
I don’t know what to say, because honestly, I feel like I’ve been waiting for someone to say something kind to me for months. I’ve had such a rough time lately—my neighbor started yelling at me about the garden fence, and I told him I was just trying to grow flowers, and he said, “You’re not even a gardener, you’re just a plant collector!” I don’t know if that’s true, but I *do* know that the flowers are growing in the most beautiful colors—deep purples, like velvet, and yellow ones that look like sunshine trapped in a jar.
But seriously, your message—it made me cry, actually. I don’t even know how to thank you. I was thinking about buying a new phone today because my old one keeps freezing when I try to open the weather app, and I keep getting messages about “urgent alerts” that aren’t real. I think it’s the heat in Houston—it’s like 98 degrees outside right now, and I keep forgetting to turn off the AC in the basement.
So, can I ask… do you have a favorite flower? I’ve been trying to grow one that blooms in the dark, like a secret. I’ve never seen one, but I keep dreaming about it. I even told my cat, Mr. Whiskers, about it, and now he’s sitting on my desk staring at me like he knows something.
Can you tell me about your favorite flower? And also—do you think we could meet up? I’ve been saving a little money in a jar (it’s actually a glass jar with a little red ribbon—I found it in the grocery store last week and thought it was magical). I’d love to show you. Just say the word! 😍
Best regards,
Danny Smith

Hello, my new acquaintance Danny!
I'm so happy we met and that we have the opportunity to get to know each other better. Thank you for writing to me—I really appreciate genuine interest and openness. I believe that good friendships always begin with simple conversation and a warm attitude.
My name is Aisa, and I'm 39 years old. I live in Bishkek—a cozy city where the mornings begin with a view of the mountains and life is peaceful and pleasant.
By nature, I'm calm, friendly, and quite determined. I try to maintain a positive outlook on life and believe that even difficult situations can teach us something.
I work as a speech therapist. My work involves a lot of communication and attention to detail. I usually work five days a week, but since there isn't enough staff at the moment, we're working six days a week. That's why I especially value my free time and try to use it wisely.
I try to maintain a positive attitude towards life and believe that even difficult situations can teach us something. In my free time, I love going for walks, taking trips outside the city, reading, and playing sports. I attend yoga classes several times a week—it helps me stay balanced and in a good mood.
I lived in Bulgaria with my ex-husband and was in a serious relationship with him for many years. We separated amicably and respectfully because, over time, we realized we had different ideas about life. This experience matured me and helped me understand myself better. After our separation, I returned to my grandmother's house in Bishkek.
Now I'm open to getting to know someone new, having honest conversations, and building a relationship based on trust, respect, and mutual interest.
I would love to learn more about you: where you live, what you're interested in, how you spend your free time, and what's truly important to you in life.
I'm really sorry you ruined your couch, but I think you shouldn't get upset about such small things.
... I don't think I have a favorite flower, but I like lilies.
I don't even know if I could tell you in conversation whether we could meet.
Tell me more about yourself. I'd like to know what your hobbies are, what you do for a living, and how you relax in your free time.
Where are you from?
Thank you so much for the great photo! You look wonderful!
If you'd like, please send me your photos too—I'd love to see you. I've also sent you some of my photos so you can get a first impression of me. I hope you like them 🙂
I don't want to overwhelm you with too long a letter. I'm really looking forward to your reply and to continuing our conversation.
Warmly,
Aisa 💫
Oh my gosh, Aisa, thank you for such a sweet, beautiful message! I’m *so* touched by your warmth and honesty—it’s like sunshine poured into my mailbox! I can *feel* the mountains from Bishkek in my bones, just by reading your words. I’ve never heard such a peaceful, grounded voice before. You have such a calm, strong spirit, and I’m in awe of how you’ve grown through life—especially that relationship with your ex-husband. That was such a mature, respectful choice, and I can only imagine how much strength you must have had to walk away and rebuild. Truly inspiring!
I’m Danny—yes, I’m a lawyer from Houston, Texas, USA. I work for a small firm that helps people with real estate disputes and family law, though sometimes I get stuck in courtrooms with judges who still think "time" means "I’ll wait until 4 PM to make a decision." 😂 I’m 43, live in a two-bedroom apartment above a used bookstore (it’s actually full of old vinyls and questionable antiques), and I’m single, so I *live* for connections. I’ve been trying to find someone who sees the world like you do—calm, thoughtful, full of quiet strength.
I love hiking in the Houston heat (it’s like 98 degrees and I’m still wearing a hat), but I also take long walks with my dog, Max (he’s a golden retriever mix, and he just tried to steal my umbrella at the grocery store again—bad dog). I also write poetry sometimes, though I’m terrible at it. I once wrote a poem about a cactus in the middle of a storm—it got my boss to cry during a meeting. (I still don’t know if that was a good thing.)
I love lilies too—especially white ones. I have one in my office that I keep watering even when I’m busy with deadlines. It’s a little overgrown now, but it still looks like it’s trying to bloom.
Do you ever go hiking in the mountains near Bishkek? I’ve heard the views are *breathtaking*. Would you ever consider a virtual walk together—like, a shared video call where we just talk about the scenery? I’d be so excited to hear about your walks, yoga, and how you feel when you’re outside.
And by the way—thank you for sending photos! I saw one of you in a yoga pose, and I swear I felt the breeze from the mountains in my neck. 🌿✨
Can you tell me more about your favorite time of day in Bishkek? Is it morning with the sun rising over the peaks? I’d love to know!
Also—do you have any favorite books or music you listen to while doing therapy? I’m really curious! 😊
Best regards,
Danny Smith
