Good evening, Mr. Scholes — thank you for your email and for the update about your return from travel. I’m glad you’re back in London, though I imagine the flight must have been quite a journey. I actually just finished a long lunch with a friend at a Houston restaurant that serves up some of the best fried chicken and biscuits I’ve ever had — not exactly what one would expect from a financial deal, but it’s good to be grounded in something real, right?
I’m excited about moving forward with the $200M funding. I understand that the process has been delayed slightly due to the paperwork from the Texas Department of State Insurance, which is currently reviewing a related liability claim I had filed last year. That’s not directly related, of course, but it’s been a bit of a hurdle in getting certain approvals in a timely manner.
Just to confirm: are the funds to be structured as a direct investment or through a loan agreement with a repayment schedule? Also, is there a preferred timeline for disbursement? And could you please clarify whether the investment will be in the form of a joint venture or a standalone entity? I’d love to get those details so I can begin preparing the necessary legal documentation — and maybe even have a coffee with a colleague in Houston who’s been working on similar oil and gas financing deals. Would that be helpful?
Best regards,
Danny Smith
