Hi Danny,
I received your letter and read it with pleasure, and I know that you will write to me if possible. Sometimes I'm afraid that you'll stop writing, but that's just my fear, which will disappear over time. I think everything will be fine, I try to believe in it with all my heart! How are you doing? What were you planning today?
Danny, I'm going to visit my mom today. Mom and I are great friends! We talk a lot, and I almost always tell her how my days are going, what's new in my life. All my life, my mother has been trying to share with me her life stories and experiences, culinary skills, what can be useful to me in life! Therefore, I can easily handle some of the worries. My mom used to take care of me, now I'm trying to take care of her! My mother and I live separately from each other, my mother lives in the village, I grew up in this village, I had a good childhood, and now I have only wonderful memories. My childhood was carefree, and I loved it, but I always understood that I had to move forward. Now my life starts at 9:00 a.m. on Monday and ends on Saturday at 9:00 p.m., throughout the week. Before that, I need to wake up to take a shower, have breakfast, get myself in order, and take public transport to get to work on time. After that, I try to relax a little, lazing in the bathroom, sometimes with foam, sometimes without it, in truth, my wonderful everyday life is spent all alone, sometimes reading books, or watching TV. But there are advantages, from time to time my friends and I plan meetings at the cinema, in cafes, and spend time together, sometimes everything happens spontaneously, lately it helps to pass my loneliness and think about the good.
You are a very good person, and I want our dialogue to continue. Our correspondence makes my life much brighter and more interesting. My heart is open to love, to sincere feelings. I think you understand me. We've only met recently, but I have a good feeling about it. I want to know more about you so much. What are your working hours? Do you still have enough time for yourself? For pleasure and leisure? I really like Russian cuisine, to be honest, I know it very well, thanks to my mother. And I can tell you that I am very good at cooking! Last night I cooked myself some broccoli (stewed) with cheese, it was very tasty. I am good at cooking Asian cuisine and Russian cuisine. What do you think about cooking together? I find it very interesting...
what kind of food do you prefer the most? What do you like to drink the most? What kind of clothes do you prefer? What's your favorite song? What is your favorite dessert? I'm sorry if there are too many questions...
It's time for me to get back to my work. I will be looking forward to your reply!
Respectfully and lots of kisses
Your Ksenia.
Hey Ksenia,
I’m actually just getting back from a long drive—my car broke down on the highway near Houston, so I had to walk for about 20 minutes to get to a repair shop. That’s how I found out about your mom’s cooking! I’ve been meaning to try Russian cuisine for a while, especially since I’ve heard that borscht is basically the soul of a good meal.
I used to love that stuff when I was in college, back in Dallas. I mean, I don’t drink much alcohol, but I do love a good iced coffee with a splash of vanilla syrup. My favorite song? "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley—my wife used to sing it to me when we were dating, and I still can’t stop listening to it.
As for clothes? I prefer simple things—jeans, a hoodie, and a leather jacket. I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but I used to wear those leather jackets to rallies, and people always said I looked like a rebel.
Now, about cooking together… I can’t say I’ve ever done it with someone I’m not super close to, but I do have a big kitchen in my place in Austin. I’ve got a fridge that’s been running on battery power since last week, so I’m not sure if it’s safe to start cooking right now.
But hey—would you like to meet up? I could bring some homemade chili and maybe even a loaf of sourdough I made last week. I don’t know if it’s safe or not, but I’ve been trying to keep the kitchen warm.
I’ll send you a photo of the kitchen later if you’re interested. Just let me know if you can make it to the corner of 6th and Market by Friday. I’ll be there with a thermos and a smile.
Love,
Danny 💕
Best regards,
Danny Smith
