Hallo Danny!
Samara in Russland.
erfahren – Ihr Leben, Ihre Hobbys und was Sie glücklich macht.

Hi Irina — thanks so much for reaching out! I really appreciate you taking the time to connect. I’ve been thinking about how much I enjoy quiet mornings in Houston, especially when the sun’s just starting to climb over the bayous and I can hear the distant hum of oil rigs. I live alone now, mostly just me, my books, and a lot of coffee. It’s kind of peaceful, actually — though sometimes I wonder if I’m missing something more lively, like a real conversation that doesn’t end with “I’ll see you around.”
I love that you mentioned wanting to get to know each other better. That’s really sweet. I’ve been working on a new case recently — it’s about a pipeline dispute in the Gulf Coast — and I’ve found myself thinking about how people connect in unexpected ways. Maybe we could talk about something real, like what kind of days you’ve had lately or what interests you most?
Do you have a preferred time to talk? I’m usually up early, and I’ve found that the quiet hours around 8 a.m. work best for deep chats. Also, I noticed your email was sent from a mobile device — is that something you’re comfortable with, or do you prefer a more structured message?
Wishing you a calm and warm day,
Danny

P.S. I just had my first real conversation with a new client about offshore leases — it made me think how much we all need genuine connection these days.

Hi Irina,
Thanks so much for the lovely email — I really enjoyed reading about you and your life in Kinel. It's such a peaceful place, and I can imagine the beauty of the Samara region, especially with all those outdoor activities you love. I’ve been thinking about how much I appreciate people who care about small details — like how a cat named Fatty might "brighten a room" with his antics. That’s actually funny and kind of endearing. I’ve got a little old terrier at home named Biscuit, though he’s more into chasing shadows than making people laugh.
Speaking of which, I’ve been working on a new project lately — a small oil and gas dispute settlement I’m handling for a client in the Gulf Coast. It’s been a long week, and I’ve had a few late nights, so I’m feeling a bit more open to new connections. That said, I’d love to hear more about your work as an optician — how do you usually help customers pick frames? Is there a special lens you recommend for people with different lifestyles?
Also, I was wondering — if you’re open to it, could I share a photo of Biscuit with you? I know it might be a bit odd, but I think he’d love to meet Fatty!
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Warmly,
Danny

P.S. I’ve been trying to stay in shape — just walking around Houston most days. It’s not much, but it keeps me from getting too stiff.

Hi Danny! I’m so happy to hear from you. I had a wonderful day today;
the weather was beautiful. I love sunny days—they always make me
happier and put me in a good mood. It was lovely reading about your
quiet mornings in Houston, the sun over the bayous, and the distant
hum of oil rigs. I pictured the scene, and there really is something
peaceful about it. I also understand what you mean when you say you
sometimes wonder if you’re missing out on something more vibrant. A
real conversation—one that doesn’t just end with a standard "see you
later"—is something many of us lack. So, I’d love to talk to you about
something real. My days are quiet right now: work, home, and the
occasional get-together with girlfriends. What interests me most these
days is human relationships—why some people find each other while
others remain alone. I’m also interested in getting to know you. As
for when to chat, mornings work well for me—around eight o'clock, just
like for you. It seems like a good time for a calm conversation. I
sent my last message from my phone because it’s faster, but I also
enjoy longer, more structured messages; I like having the time to
think things through before writing. It’s a shame you didn’t send a
photo today. Maybe you can manage it tomorrow? I’m really curious to
see what you look like. And of course, show me a picture of Biscuit—I
don't find that strange at all. I think he’d really enjoy meeting
Fatty. By the way, the idea of your terrier chasing shadows is
adorable. We have a cat at home, too, and he often livens up the room
with his antics. You asked about my job. I work as an optician,
helping clients choose frames so they can see well and feel confident,
too. That’s a truly interesting part of the job because every person
is unique, and you have to take into account both their face shape and
their lifestyle. For people with active lifestyles, I often recommend
anti-glare lenses with a high-quality coating, while for those who
work a lot at a computer, I suggest lenses with a blue-light filter. I
love it when a person leaves happy and able to see the world clearly.
Danny, why didn't you tell me anything about yourself? I thought you
would describe yourself a bit in your letter, but that didn't happen.
Why? I hope you can share more next time. Getting to know you is
important to me. Yesterday, I shared information about myself—where I
live, how old I am, and what I do. I would really like it if things
were mutual. I recently read some articles about men from your
country. I was surprised by how similar the views on relationships are
between men from your country and Russian women. The article discussed
how women in your country view marriage and family; it turns out many
of them prioritize their careers first and think about family later.
Things are a bit different here; most women dream of family, love, and
marriage from childhood. Unfortunately, however, many men in Russia
have lost interest in that and often choose a carefree lifestyle
instead. Perhaps that is why I have been single for so long. I want to
meet a man I can rely on—someone who knows how to love, respect, and
cherish his woman. It is very important to me that a relationship be
serious and built on faithfulness. I don't want to waste my life on
someone who might betray me or choose another woman at any moment. I
get the impression that men from your country come closer to the ideal
I am looking for. Please tell me in your next letter: how are Russian
women viewed in your country? Is it true that women there think more
about money and careers than about family? I would love to continue
this conversation. By the way, I hope you can follow what I’m writing.
My foreign language skills aren't perfect; I studied the language in
school and university, as it’s a mandatory part of our education
system. You mentioned recently working on the dispute surrounding the
Gulf Coast pipeline and having a tough week. I can imagine how
difficult that is, especially when you have to stay late. I hope you
have a bit more time to rest now. And I think that, right now, many
people are truly missing genuine human connection. Warmly, Irina.

Hi Irina! Thank you so much for your beautiful message—I truly appreciated how thoughtful and genuine you were. I’ve been thinking about your words all morning, especially about that quiet connection between people, even across oceans. It makes me smile to hear how much you value real conversations, ones that go beyond small talk. Honestly, I’ve been on my own for years now—living in Houston, working long hours at my oil and gas firm, and lately, just trying to find that same peace in the rhythm of daily life. I remember one rainy afternoon last spring, I was walking past the bayou and saw a lone duck waddling through the mist, and it just… made me pause. I thought, *That’s what I’ve been looking for—stillness, quiet moments where you can just breathe.*
I’d love to hear more about your days—especially how your work as an optician helps people feel confident. That sounds deeply meaningful. Also, Fatty and Biscuit—what a fun little match! I’d love to see a photo of Fatty. (And if Biscuit’s chasing shadows, I’m ready to believe he’s got a whole life of mischief!)
One quick thing—would you be open to a brief call sometime this week? Maybe around 8 a.m. your time? I’ve been meaning to finally send a photo of me and our terrier, Biscuit, and I’m hoping to share it with you soon.
Warmly,

Hi Danny! I was so happy to receive your letter. How was your day?
What is the weather like where you are? I had a nice, quiet day today.
I really enjoyed reading your thoughts on that invisible connection
between people—one that endures even across oceans. I believe in that,
too. And the story about the lonely duck on a foggy day really touched
me. Sometimes, simple moments like that make us stop and realize what
we’re missing. I’m glad you seek out silence and quiet moments; that’s
important. I think we should communicate more and share stories from
our lives so we can get to know each other better. Today, I’d like to
tell you a little more about myself and my daily life. Until I was
seven, I lived in the village of Zolnoye in the Samara region. It
might seem unusual to you, but I never went to kindergarten. My mom is
a teacher, and she devoted all her free time to me. When she was at
work, I stayed with my grandmother and helped around the house. When I
turned seven, my mom decided to move to the city of Kinel. This
happened because the kindergarten in our village closed, and she lost
her job. To support us and give me a better education, she decided to
move, and I went with her. Now, my mom is retired and lives in the
village with my grandmother. In 2002, I graduated from high school
with honors and faced an important choice regarding my career. I had
always wanted to be like my mom and care for children. After talking
it over with her, I decided to enroll in the medical university in
Kinel and specialize in pediatrics. My close friend Kristina also
influenced my choice; she has had musculoskeletal issues since birth.
She’s like a sister to me. We spent a lot of time together growing up,
and now, whenever I visit the village to see my mom and grandmother, I
always visit her, too. I graduated from university in 2008 and was
assigned to an internship at our clinic. After finishing the
internship, I decided to stay on. However, after working there for a
while, I realized it wasn't quite the right fit for me, so I took a
job at an optical shop instead; I feel much more comfortable there. I
really enjoy my work—it brings me joy and a sense that I’m doing
something important and useful. You asked how my job helps people gain
self-confidence. It really does. When someone starts seeing better,
they seem to stand taller, smile, and feel more self-assured. I love
helping people find the right glasses or contact lenses so they feel
comfortable and look good. Danny, please tell me about your work. Do
you like your profession, and do you feel it suits you? I hope today’s
letter has helped you understand my life a bit better. I’m looking
forward to your reply and really hope you’ll tell me more about
yourself. Danny, regarding the call—I’ve thought about it, and
unfortunately, I can’t do it right now. I’ve run out of roaming data
on my phone, and using messaging apps requires a VPN, which I don’t
have. Setting all that up involves purchases and paperwork—it takes
time and money. So, it’s not possible for the moment; I’m sorry. Maybe
later, once I get everything sorted out. In the meantime, let’s keep
writing to each other; I really enjoy it. Danny, you mentioned you’d
like to see a photo of Fatty. I’m sending you a picture of myself. I
think I look great in it, and I’d love to hear what you think. Also,
Danny, **I’m really looking forward to a photo of you and Biscuit,
too!** Please send it in your next letter; I’m really curious to see
the two of you. You promised to share one soon, so I’ll be waiting.
Warmly, your Irina.

Hi Irina! Thank you so much for sharing such a heartfelt and detailed story about your life—your background in Zolnoye, your mom’s influence, and especially how you’ve always cared for others in your path, it really touched me. I can see how deeply meaningful your work as an optician is. You’re not just helping people see better—you’re helping them *feel* better, which is something I’ve always admired in real-life professions.
I have to say, I’ve been thinking about your story all morning. I even walked past the Houston City Hall today and saw that oil rig sign on the bayou side—like you said, there’s something peaceful about that quiet hum. I’ve been up since 5 a.m. helping a client with a well-logging dispute, and it made me realize how much I miss the stillness. I thought of you and your cat, Fatty, and the way you describe quiet moments. I’d love to hear more about your friend Kristina—how she’s doing now, and if you’ve ever had a moment where her condition made you realize how much strength and resilience people carry.
Also, I don’t know if you’ve thought about this, but Biscuit, my terrier, he’s actually been doing a lot of shadow-chasing lately. Last night, he ran across the backyard like he saw something, and I swear he stopped when he saw me looking at the horizon. It reminded me of the lonely duck story—how something small can make us pause and wonder.
When you’re ready, I’d love to talk about a time when something small made a big difference—maybe a moment with a friend, or a personal realization. I’ve got some time tomorrow morning at 8, so if you’d like to chat, I’m free.
Sent from my iPad.

Hallo Danny!!!! Ich freue mich riesig über deine Briefe! Danke, dass
du antwortest und mich nicht vergisst. Es ist sehr spannend, dich
kennenzulernen und uns mit jedem Brief näherzukommen! Danny, wie war
dein Tag? Was Schönes hast du heute erlebt?
Was deinen Vorschlag betrifft,
Es klappt also vorerst
in Kontakt bleiben möchtest. Das ist mir wichtig. Lass uns vorerst
einfach weiter schreiben; das gefällt mir sehr gut. Danny, in meinem
Was meinst
erinnern, was ihm zugestoßen ist. Aber ich nehme jetzt all meinen Mut
zusammen und erzähle dir diese traurige Geschichte. Mein Vater kam ums
in Kasachstan.
Deine Freundin Irina.

Hi Irina! Thanks so much for the long, heartfelt letter — it really warmed my heart. I’ve been thinking about your story from Zolnoye and how your mom raised you with such care. That kind of early love and stability is rare and deeply meaningful. I can’t imagine growing up without kindergarten, and I wonder how much of your sense of kindness and empathy came from that close, quiet relationship with your grandmother. It’s a beautiful foundation.
I’m also smiling thinking about Biscuit and how he “sees” things too — like the way he stops and watches when you’re looking at the horizon. That’s such a quiet, poetic moment. I’ve had that same thought when I watch the oil rigs from my kitchen window — sometimes I catch myself pausing, wondering if something big is happening behind the smoke and the haze. It feels like nature, too, is just watching, waiting.
So, about the photo — I’m sorry I haven’t sent one yet. I’ve been trying to find the right moment, and with my phone battery dying on the way to the gas station last night, I forgot to snap it before I left. I’ll send a quick picture of Biscuit and myself this weekend — maybe even one where he’s chasing a shadow, just like you described. I’ve named him “Shadow Chaser” now, so I’ll call him that in the photo caption.
How about we try the call again next week? I’m thinking of scheduling it for early morning, around eight, just like we agreed. I’ll check my roaming and see if I can set up a simple data plan. I’d love to hear your voice — I’ve been thinking about the quiet moments we can share.
Sending you a warm, sunny thought,
Danny

Hallo Danny!
Biscuit nach all deinen Erzählungen ausseht. Ich freue mich darauf.

Hi Irina!
Thanks so much for the lovely message — I really enjoyed reading about your family and how they’ve shaped you. It’s rare to find someone who carries such quiet strength and kindness in their words, and I’m truly inspired by your story, especially about your mom’s influence. That’s something I’ve always admired in people who live with patience and grace.
Speaking of which — I was just sitting in the backyard this afternoon, sipping coffee and watching the sun set over the Houston skyline. Biscuit was barking at a bird that looked suspiciously like a squirrel, and I couldn’t help but think of your shadow-hunting story. It’s funny how the same little things — a dog, a bird, a quiet moment — can feel so powerful. I swear, I’ve had that same feeling when I’m walking through the oil fields at dusk, watching the lights flicker on in the distance. Something about that stillness… it feels like a conversation.
So, about the call — I just checked my roaming data, and I’m good for a few more hours. I think we could try Saturday at 8 a.m. local time. No pressure, but I’d love to hear your voice and talk about the days you’ve spent with Kristina. I’ve been thinking about her too — her strength, the way she keeps going even when it’s hard.
And yes — I’ll make sure to get that photo of me and Biscuit by Friday night. I’ll even take it in front of the old well pump in the yard where I used to watch the sun set. You’ll see how he’s still trying to catch shadows. 😉

Hallo!
mir irgendwie sofort bildlich vorstellen.

Danny
